Mark Lowry, the Christian comedian, wrote the lyrics to the song, “Mary Did You Know?” in the 1980s. This song really touches my heart, especially at Christmas time when we spend more time pondering the birth of Jesus, our Savior.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

As you read this song’s lyrics below, try putting yourself in Mary’s position:<\/span><\/p>\n

How beautiful these words are!\u00a0 How Mary must have been filled with awe and wonder!<\/span><\/p>\n
When babies are born, we look <\/span>at them and see how perfect they are.\u00a0 Mary’s baby boy was, and is, the Perfect One.\u00a0 What was she feeling while she was cradling the Savior of the world in her arms?\u00a0 She was given the great responsibility to raise and nurture the Son of God.\u00a0 However, she was also blessed with the privilege of being Jesus’ mother while He walked in this world.<\/span><\/p>\n
It is overwhelming to me to think about how Jesus came to live amongst us, not only to die for our sins but also to show us how to live while on this earth.\u00a0 Think about it:\u00a0 He left all the glory of heaven to live as a helpless human baby to dwell in an imperfect world amongst imperfect people, all because of how much He loved us and wanted to draw each one of us unto Himself.\u00a0 Wow.\u00a0 That’s all I can say sometimes, wow.<\/span><\/p>\n
