\u00a0<\/p>\n
I believe in big miracles and healings\u2014those of the \u201cParting of the <\/span>Red Sea\u201d magnitude.\u00a0 I\u2019ve heard testimonies of cancer there one check-up and gone the next.\u00a0 They happen.\u00a0 And, I know it is the Maker of the Universe who brings them about.<\/span><\/p>\n But, have you ever thought about all the less noticeable healings that have taken place in your life or have happened to people around you?<\/p>\n I remember dealing with colds and the flu and various bruises and scrapes when my three boys were growing up.\u00a0 Of course, I prayed for God to heal them.\u00a0 However when recovery came, I\u2019m not sure I recognized it for what it really was.\u00a0 Those restorations to health were all miracles of healings, and not necessarily small ones.\u00a0 That cold could\u2019ve gone into something more serious like pneumonia.\u00a0 Minor injuries could\u2019ve morphed into a more critical condition. \u201cThus says the Lord, the God of your father David, \u2018I have heard your prayer, I have seen your tears; behold, I will heal you.\u2019\u201d (2 Kings 20:5, NAS)<\/em><\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n Then there are the happenings in a so-called normal day that go unrecognized as miracles.\u00a0 For example: what about that mom who goes to the grocery store with four young children in tow and all<\/em> the kids actually behave?\u00a0 When she gets to the check-out line, there is not a single \u201csurprise\u201d item going down the belt.\u00a0 No colorful words passed out of their little mouths in embarrassing fashion.\u00a0 And, she sees an elderly neighbor who whispers in her ear, \u201cYou are such a good mom.\u201d\u00a0 Perhaps her fragile emotions and her mommy confidence received the boost she needed to go on.\u00a0 Now, that\u2019s a miracle.<\/p>\n When I was a teenager, I was on the way home late one night when the engine blew up the car I was riding in.\u00a0 It was 20-some below that night, and the highway was deserted with the nearest house being, probably, a couple of miles away.\u00a0 We couldn\u2019t walk, because of the dangerously frigid temperature.\u00a0 We couldn\u2019t sit in the car\u2014it was full of smoke.\u00a0 And of course, there were no cell phones.\u00a0 Within five or ten minutes some people we knew came along and picked us up.\u00a0 I didn\u2019t know much about God then, and I may have viewed the whole thing as \u201cluck\u201d at the time.\u00a0 But, after turning my life over to Jesus, I looked back on that night differently.\u00a0 Not one part of the incident was happenstance.\u00a0 It was the Lord who gave us a miracle and kept us safe that night.\u00a0 \u201cFor He will order his angels to protect you wherever you go.\u201d\u00a0 (Psalm 91:11, NLT)<\/em><\/p>\n So what about instances in your life when you received the seemingly little (but not necessarily insignificant) miracles and\/or healings? \u00a0Try writing them down and then ponder how God has orchestrated a restoration\u2014big or small\u2014in your life or in the lives of the people you know.
