I\u2019m trying to hear that still small voice <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Life gets so busy and filled with noise. A multitude of voices come at us, telling us what is right and what is wrong. The din of the world becomes so deafening that it is difficult to separate out God\u2019s voice from rest of the clamor. Then, we wonder how we got to where we are at this moment.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0I had so many dreams and plans as a young person\u2014so many \u201croads\u201d that I intended to travel down. \u00a0Do you remember the excitement of looking to the future and wondering what\u00a0<\/span>all was ahead? \u00a0I don\u2019t know about you, but in many ways, my life is not at all what I thought it would be. \u00a0There are disappointments of goals not attained. \u00a0On the other hand, though, so much in my life is better than what I ever could\u2019ve imagined or hoped for. <\/span>\u201cWe can make our plans, but the LORD<\/span><\/em> determines our steps.\u201d \u00a0(Proverbs 16:9, NLT)<\/span>\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Verse 3: \u00a0Oh I walk, Oh, I walk through the shadows <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 And I, I am so afraid<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0How do we deal with the distress of expectations not met? \u00a0How do we keep from being fearful when we are in the midst of the \u201cshadows\u201d and pains of life? \u00a0Health issues, relationship problems, and tragedies can throw us off balance and leave us confused and discouraged. \u00a0Sometimes it takes great effort to look to God for strength and to get our focus off the frustrations around us. \u00a0If we trust completely that the Lord has our best interests in mind when He guides us through all situations, then we can rest in the fact that we are right where we should be. And, we can be certain that Jesus will stay by our side. \u00a0He will not leave us\u2014not even for a minute during our journey. \u00a0<\/span>\u201cAnd be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.\u201d (Matthew 28:20b, NLT)<\/em><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0So, no matter what you are facing right now, remember that Jesus wants to help you through whatever it is you are going through. He will not let you down, and He will not leave you.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span>\u201cWhat, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?\u201d (Romans 8:31, NIV)<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n
