Finding.&#8221;  by Tammy Maseberg, March 26, 2013"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\u201cMom!\u00a0 I can\u2019t find my _____.\u201d\u00a0 You can fill in the blank\u2014homework, favorite shirt, helmet, or (later on) car keys.\u00a0 I\u2019m will use the example of shoes. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cDon\u2019t think I wore them,\u201d I say.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI know, but I can\u2019t <em>find <\/em>them.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDid you look in your closet?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWell, no but I can\u2019t find them.\u00a0 Come help me, <em>please<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Of course, I drop what I\u2019m doing and go to his aid.\u00a0 And, since he\u2019s been at it for 10 minutes now, I really doubt if his non-mom eyes are capable of locating those shoes.\u00a0 I start my search, and 15 seconds later I\u2019m standing in front of him with the objects of his distress in my hand.\u00a0 \u201cAre these what you\u2019re looking for?\u201d\u00a0 And, I give him that look.\u00a0 You know, that same one I\u2019ve probably worn on my face a 1000 times before\u2014but, who\u2019s counting?<\/p>\n<p>What my son was looking for was there all along, but somehow they escaped his field of vision.\u00a0 The shoes didn\u2019t suddenly appear when the mother figure (that would be me) of the house went hunting for them.<\/p>\n<p>Oh, so much like life!\u00a0 We all yearn for love, acceptance, and mercy\u2014things only God can give us in the most complete and unconditional way possible.\u00a0 Problem is we tend to search in all the wrong places for them.\u00a0 We think He is hiding His goodness from us, and that just isn\u2019t true.\u00a0 I picture God trying to get our attention to tell us that He\u2019s ready to give us all that is beneficial, genuine, and fulfilling.\u00a0 All we have to do is ask.\u00a0 <em>\u201cAsk and it will be given to you;
