{"id":106,"date":"2012-12-04T18:41:47","date_gmt":"2012-12-04T18:41:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ihsteps.com\/wordpress\/?p=106"},"modified":"2012-12-04T18:41:47","modified_gmt":"2012-12-04T18:41:47","slug":"qadapting-adjusting-living-wellq-december-4-2012","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/inhisstepsministry.com\/?p=106","title":{"rendered":"&#8220;Adapting, Adjusting, Living Well&#8221; by Tammy Maseberg, December 4, 2012"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" size-full wp-image-105\" style=\"vertical-align: top;\" alt=\"GTracy\" src=\"http:\/\/ihsteps.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/GTracy.jpg\" height=\"189\" width=\"189\" srcset=\"https:\/\/inhisstepsministry.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/GTracy.jpg 403w, https:\/\/inhisstepsministry.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/GTracy-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/inhisstepsministry.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/GTracy-300x300.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 189px) 100vw, 189px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Me &#038; Grandma Tracy, 12\/2006<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\u00a9Photo by Julie Hessletine, 2006-All Rights Reserved<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Yesterday would\u2019ve been my Grandma Tracy\u2019s birthday.\u00a0 She died in May 2011 at 94\u00bd years young, still living independently in her own place.\u00a0 In His mercy, God called her home before she went through a lengthy illness or significant decline of her cognitive abilities.\u00a0 What a way to go!<\/p>\n<p>Think of all the changes she saw in the world through nine decades of living: the Great Depression, World War II, the assassination of a President, man walking on the moon, etc.\u00a0 Color television, computers, and organ transplants all came into existence during her lifetime.\u00a0 On a personal level, she experienced blessings and tragedies just like anyone else.\u00a0 She was a widow for almost 50 years.\u00a0 As a single mom she had to send two of her sons off to serve in the Vietnam War.\u00a0 By the time she was in her 90s, most of her friends had either died or were living in nursing homes.\u00a0 She had to deal with many losses, including a daughter and all but one of her siblings.<\/p>\n<p>  <!--more-->  <\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The more things change, the more things stay the same.\u00a0 <em>\u201cWhat has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun.\u201d (Ecclesiastes 1:9, NIV) <\/em>Conflicts have been a part of the world forever.\u00a0 And, no one is immune to trials in his or her own personal life.\u00a0 We get so caught up in thinking the way things are now is the worst it\u2019s ever been.\u00a0 When, if we look back in history, we will see that others before us have overcome some seemingly insurmountable obstacles.<\/p>\n<p>How do we adapt and survive all that life throws at us?\u00a0 One thing we can be assured of is that God will stay the same and that He will bring good into our lives\u2014no matter what.\u00a0 <em>\u201cWhatever is good and perfect comes down to us from God our Father, who created all the lights in the heavens.\u00a0 He never changes or casts a shifting shadow.
